Philosophers on Religion: A Historical Reader
Over the centuries, Western philosophers have addressed the problems raised by religious beliefs. They have speculated about prayer, divine revelation, the soul, and miracles. They have written from different points of view: as believers, agnostics or hostile sceptics. Some have sought to lead people to a religious vision of life; others to defend, justify or explain doctrine.
