Naming Your God; The Search for Mature Images
Some people carry around oppressive images of God and think those are the only ones available; some limit themselves to a few chilhood images; still others accept only an image or two from scripture - usually that of a vengeful or angry God. Naming Your God is a book that ushers the reader out such limited notions to show the unlimited possibilities for growing in our understanding of God. Author Pat McCloskey points out that "many middle-aged and older Christians often feel that they have lost their faith when in fact they have simply reached the point where orther images are needed if they are to remain active, adult believers."
