liberation theology is about life itself ; it is not just About institutional-oriented dogmas. The Bishops of Asia have emphasized the preferential option for the poor as their guiding principle in carring out christ's mission here on earth. And being part of Asia, the Church of the Philippines should involve herself more in the struggles of the poor as an authentic witness of this option. This is the pre-condition to a theology of liberation. The Gospel then could easily shed light on these endeavors providing a solid foundation for drawing up a filipino theology of liberation.
